When I need a fresh perspective, there’s nothing better than Oblique Strategies.

If you don’t know this deck of cards, it was created by Brian Eno and Peter Schmidt in 1975 for the purpose of breaking creative blocks. Each card has a provocation or constraint intended to inspire lateral thinking. Things like: Try faking it! and Honor thy error as a hidden intention and Ask your body.

The work of organizational change can be all-consuming. The only way I’ve seen leaders (and consultants) survive the messiness is to hold tight to a wider perspective. One that allows you to breathe, and tilt your head, and see the opportunity with new eyes.

Every week I’ll offer my version of an Oblique Strategy, intended to help you find new perspective.

Let’s call them Transformation Provocations.

Because we all need more syllables in our lives.
